Guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican

This guided tour is ideal for immersing yourself in one of the wonders built by mankind, St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, which houses some of the most famous works of art ever made. One among many: Michelangelo’s Pietà.

The basilica and its treasures

The visit to the basilica allows us to discover an architectural and artistic period of maximum expression of the Italian Renaissance. The basilica was built starting from 1506 and finished in 1626 AD by the hand of some of the most important architects of the time, from Bramante to Michelangelo, to Carlo Maderno.

In addition to having considerable dimensions (it is 211.5 meters long and reaches 132.5 meters in the center of the dome), the basilica represents an immense collection of notable works, located among its 45 altars and 11 chapels.

In particular, it is possible to admire:

  • Dome of St. Peter (visible from the inside. Access to the dome not included in the ticket)
  • Bernini’s canopy
  • Pietà by Michelangelo Buonarroti
  • Papal altar
  • Confession
  • Chair of St. Peter
  • Monument of Clement XIII made by Antonio Canova

What is included in the ticket
