Choosing to visit the Colosseum and the Roman Forum accompanied by an expert and certified guide allows you to better appreciate the ruins of ancient Rome. The tour starts from the Roman Forum and ends after the visit to the Colosseum.

Roman forum

Having a guide by your side is particularly useful when visiting the Roman Forum , which is the first stop on this tour. The Roman Forum, in fact, is an archaeological park consisting of a large number of remains of monuments belonging to different eras, from the royal period, to the republican period, to the imperial one.

In the course of the various periods, the Roman Forum has always represented the political, juridical, economic and religious center of the city of Rome.

Some particularly interesting monuments are the Temple of Saturn , dating back to the early republican age (497 BC), the basilica of Maxentius , started by the homonymous emperor in 308 AD, the Giulia basilica (1st century BC), built by Gaius Julius Caesar.

By purchasing this ticket you will have priority access to the Colosseum , which is the second stop of the tour. Thanks to the certified guide , you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself not only in the beauty and grandeur of this work, but also to appreciate its history.

During the visit, the guide will be able to show you anecdotes and curiosities about the largest permanent masonry amphitheater in the world. A story made up of gladiator fights (munera), fights between animals (venationes), up to the famous naumachia , when the arena was submerged and naval battles were represented in the Colosseum for the pleasure of the public. The tour will end once the visit to the Colosseum is complete.

Additional information

For security reasons, it is not possible to enter the Colosseum with bulky items, in particular suitcases, trolleys and camping backpacks. During access, it is mandatory to go through security checks, which will check for the presence of metal objects, glass containers, alcoholic beverages and spray cans. This ticket does not include:

  • Access to the Palatine Hill
