The Colosseum, located in the center of Rome, is one of the most famous monuments in the world, a symbol of the city and a witness to its glorious past. This impressive structure was the main entertainment venue in ancient Rome, where gladiator fights were held.
Built in the first century AD by Emperor Vespasian, the Colosseum was the largest amphitheater in the Roman Empire. It could accommodate up to 50,000 spectators, who attended gladiator fights, theatrical performances and other entertainment events.
Inside the Colosseum, visitors can observe the vestiges of the arena, where gladiator fights took place, and the mysterious underground corridors, known as hypogea. These were used to house wild animals and gladiators before battles. With the virtual reality experience, visitors will be able to virtually explore these spaces and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of an authentic day of games in ancient Rome.
After visiting the Colosseum, visitors can continue their exploration of ancient Rome by visiting the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. The Roman Forum was the center of public life during the Roman Empire, home to important government buildings and a place for markets, political speeches and trials. The Palatine Hill, one of Rome’s seven hills, is known for its ruins of imperial palaces and offers a breathtaking view of the city.
The virtual reality experience offered by this visit is made possible thanks to Oculus VR technology. This immersive technology allows visitors to virtually walk through the crowded piazza of the Colosseum, hear the roar of lions and gladiators in battle, and become the protagonists of a day of games in ancient Rome. It’s a unique and compelling way to relive the history and glamor of Ancient Rome.
