To buy a ticket, follow these steps:
Admission is free every first Sunday of the month.
| Ticket Type | Price |
| Full | €5 |
| Reduced | €3 |
Reduced admission is available for EU citizens aged between 18 and 25 (inclusive).
Admission is free for residents of the Municipality of Rome and for those entitled under Decree 507/1997. Important: you must show documentation at the entrance that confirms your exemption status.
If you buy tickets directly at the Pantheon, be very mindful of the queues.
Since admission fees were introduced, the entrance area (and the signage) can be quite confusing, making lines more chaotic than they might be otherwise. Generally, there are two queues for entering the Pantheon:
Lines can be very long, and waiting times can exceed an hour, so keeping these details in mind might help you avoid unpleasant issues.
Skip-the-line tickets for visiting the Pantheon are also available, allowing priority entry to the monument and helping you avoid queues at the entrance. These are particularly helpful for optimizing your available time and ensuring a smoother, more organized experience. With a skip-the-line ticket, you can plan your day more freely in Rome and dedicate the rest of your time to other city attractions without facing the lengthy waits that often characterize entry to this monument.
Exploring the Pantheon with an audio-guide allows you to visit the monument independently while still benefiting from clear historical and architectural explanations. This option is well suited to visitors who prefer a flexible pace and wish to focus on specific elements of the building without following a fixed group itinerary.
The audio-guide provides structured commentary on the Pantheon’s origins, its evolution from a Roman temple to a Christian basilica, and the engineering achievements behind the dome and central oculus. It also highlights key interior features, artworks, and notable tombs, including that of Raphael. The content is usually divided into concise sections, making it easy to pause, resume, or revisit particular topics during the visit.
This type of ticket represents a balanced solution between standard admission and a guided tour. It adds valuable context to the experience while maintaining full freedom of movement, making it a practical choice for first-time visitors, families, and travelers who want a deeper understanding of the Pantheon without time constraints.
Access is only provided for the Rome Tourist Pass, which lets you choose between:
Admission to the Pantheon is not included in the Roma Pass, so you cannot use that pass for Pantheon entry. If you’d like to plan ahead and see which sites are covered, you should consult the list of attractions included when purchasing the Roma Pass.
Evening openings or special events at the Pantheon are relatively rare, generally tied to religious celebrations or specific cultural initiatives. When these do occur, space is limited and advance booking is strongly recommended.
Though not strictly a church, the Pantheon is considered a sacred place as well as a site of great historical significance. There aren’t overly strict rules, but respectful clothing is advised: shoulders and knees should be covered, and attire should generally be decorous.
Most people spend 20–30 minutes admiring the structure, dome, and oculus. If you want to delve deeper into the history and art, you could stay longer—especially if using an audioguide or joining a guided tour. In that case, the total duration can extend up to about an hour.
