The Tivoli tour is a particularly popular experience for visitors to Rome who want to take a day to visit this beautiful area of Lazio. You will have the opportunity to visit two magnificent villas: Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este.
Departing from Via Cavour in the centre of Rome, you will travel by coach to Villa Adriana. This vast archaeological site was once the imperial residence of Hadrian. Here you can observe the grandeur of Roman architecture, from the splendid gardens to the fountains and monumental porticoes.
This stage will take about 2 hours.
Before arriving at Villa D’Este, you can sample classic local dishes at one of Tivoli’s typical restaurants.
After lunch, proceed to Villa d’Este, a former Benedictine monastery that epitomises the pomp and richness of Renaissance architecture. It was built by Duchess Lucrezia Borgia in the 15th century and its history contains a number of interesting stories that your guide will be pleased to tell you.
