Historical significance

The St. John Lateran Archbasilica has a rich history dating back to early Christianity. It was originally constructed in the 4th century and has undergone various restorations and modifications over the centuries. The basilica is a testament to the architectural and artistic achievements of different eras, showcasing elements from the Roman, Gothic, and Baroque periods. Its significance extends beyond its architectural beauty, as it has been the site of numerous important religious events and papal ceremonies.

Architectural marvels

Visitors to the basilica can admire its grand façade, which features statues of Christ, St. John the Baptist, and St. John the Evangelist. The cloister and Holy Stairs

The palace was amazing and the guided tour was spiritual and informative. Some of our group felt our guide could have engaged with the whole group rather than focusing on one or two. However I found her enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

Very informative. Your website should explain that you must still line up for other entrances at the church.
