A 17th-century view of Villa Borghese, rendered with topographical precision and a Baroque taste for theatricality. The work documents the original layout of the gardens, characterised by perspective axes, geometric parterres and architecture integrated into the landscape. The clear light and panoramic view reveal the influence of the Nordic tradition in the representation of the Roman garden, transformed into a scenographic organism of great formal balance. A work of great historical and documentary value for our knowledge of the villa in the 17th century.
